Mersal Enters 200Cr Club

Mersal released on Diwali day world wide. From its day 1 Mersal started to create records at the boxoffice. It collects a 52Cr in day 1 which was a Non Rajinikanth record for a Tamil movie. In Tamilnadu Mersal created a new record of 23.3Cr gross in opening day by beating Superstar Rajinikanth Kabali movie which collects 20Cr on opening day. Not only in Tamilnadu but also in all other regions Mersal creates history. In Kerala Mersal register a Non Bahubali record day one figure of 6.10Cr. Mersal took only 3 days to enter 100Cr club world wide and becomes one of the fastest 100Cr grossing movie in South India. Also Thalapathy Vijay becomes the first South Indian actor have 5 100Cr club movies.On its 7th day at boxoffice Mersal crosses 150Cr mark at boxoffice and becomes the 2nd movie of Thalapathy Vijay to do so after the blockbuster Theri from same Vijay Atlee combination. Mersal is also the first Tamil Movie and second South Indian movie to gross 100Cr from Tamilnadu after Bahubali.


Now the latest achievement by Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal is enters the 200Cr club in just 12 days. Mersal becomes the 4th Kollywood movie to enter 200Cr club and 2nd Kollywood movie to gross 200Cr in a single language after Rajinikanth's Kabali. In South India also only 6 movies achieve this 200Cr mark. Mersal still holds a good number of screens world wide and expected to do more magic at the boxoffice in coming days. Mersal collects 141Cr from India till now and 66Cr from overseas market.
